British Airways Bad Landing

A very bumpy landing...
We all have our off days and i've been meaning write in my blog and apologise to god for not writing my bible as regularly as promised. I am feeling more grounded, more calm and more peaceful. In the last two days I have had two cars almost hit me from behind (a "botzing" as I had been contemplating to myself 30 seconds before hand - I mentioned to the Universe that I did not want to have a botzing now as the coca-cola between my legs would make an awfully sticky mess). Anyway, You know I vow to thee my country all earthly things above, entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love. The love that asks no questions, the love that stands the test, the love that makes undaunted, the final sacrifice.

Fly Fishing in Stanford

Fly Fishing in Stanford – It’s a Rainbow Wopper Dad! \

    By Philippa Castle

Just outside Stanford, on the road to Salmonsdam Nature Reserve, you’ll find a dam with a view at “Vaalvlei”, stocked with Rainbow Trout for the budding enthusiast to practice their skills and learn to master the art of fly-fishing.

Recently, one of those enthusiastic amateurs (name withheld due to embarrassment factor) and under the expert tuition of Peter Ground, who came out for an afternoon’s fishing and relaxation with his family, managed to hook not only his first Rainbow Trout, but 2 bushes out behind himself and an ear lobe!  Didn’t you hear?  Flies are all the rage now in the body piercing world!

Owners of Vaalvlei, Naas and Elsabe de Villiers, hail from the Porterville region and bring to Stanford, amongst many other things, their extensive knowledge of frogs & years of experience with Bonsai plants, which “are now growing exceptionally well in the Stanford area.  They are offering locals and tourists alike, private fishing for the day on their farm, at R100 per person for two trout, no catch and release is permitted.  Their entrance is opposite the gates of Oak Grove Farm self-catering accommodation.

Rainbow Trout - Pan fry it, bake it, braai it, grill it or smoke it, either way you’ll enjoy it… it’s delicious!

tickle me... Silver

MamaSilver, you should renew your relationship with a little Laughter

Smile! They say laughter is the best medicine, and it could be just what you and your sweetie need to rekindle your fun-filled romance. There's nothing like some good old-fashioned fun to take you back to those special times when you and your sweetheart first met.

All you two jokesters need to get the party started is a little private time. Spend an evening laughing it up at a comedy club, hit an amusement park, or head to a carnival and bring out your inner child. Once you've brought back the laughter, the good times are sure to keep rolling!

Big laughs call for a big smile.

The Happiness Test

Seven Secrets to a Happy Life

MamaSilver, you're happier than 88 percent of the other people who took Tickle's Happiness Test.

How do Tickle's experts know this? Because they measured your overall happiness level in relation to other test takers. To do this, they examined your attitudes and behaviours in the seven proven areas of life that are known to determine your happiness: Contentment, Confidence, Gratitude, Personal Growth, Cheerfulness, Relationships, and Optimism.

For example, your test results show that your level of gratitude is one of the things that helps you to feel happier overall. This means that for the most part you have a strong sense of appreciation for life's blessings. You probably also tend to view life as deep and rich with meaning. By regularly reflecting on the good around you or using prayer, you are the kind of person who can cultivate a continuous sense of thankfulness for the whole experience of living.

While your gratitude has a positive impact on how happy you are, it's still not the biggest factor that affects your overall happiness. Want to know which area of your life makes you the happiest?

What's Behind Your Emotions?

Why You Feel the Way You Do

MamaSilver, your emotions are triggered by your underlying belief in Compassion

In other words, your uncompromisingly compassionate nature directly affects how, and how often, you experience certain feelings.

For example, your test results indicate that you're most fulfilled when you can lend a helping hand to those who really need it. That factor is directly related to your fundamental belief in compassion and the range of emotions it triggers.

Based on your belief in compassion, where do you rank in the emotional landscape? Which of your emotions dominate your life? And how can you learn to control your emotions?

The Religion Test

Find the Faith That Fits Your Beliefs

MamaSilver, your belief system is best suited to religions that value solitary rituals

How do we know? While you were taking this test, we compared your religious beliefs against 10 of the world's most common religions. Your score shows that you share core beliefs with a religion that encourages highly personal expressions of spirituality.

You are attracted to a religion that encompasses a huge diversity of beliefs and a highly personal relationship with nature and its cycles. You are attracted to spiritual groups that are composed of people who primarily worship in solitude, creating rituals of personal significance in an expression of their own highly individual spirituality.

The Chakra Test

Understanding the Energy Centers of Your Body

MamaSilver, your most positive energy is flowing from your First Chakra

This chakra is located at the base of your spine and is usually called the root or base chakra. The first chakra represents evolutionary life force and is associated with both physical energy and overall vitality. In your case, this chakra appears to be clear and unblocked so that positive energy can flow from it freely. Radiating positive energy from your first chakra indicates that you've cultivated higher wisdom concerning important life lessons associated with this energy center. You likely experience a solid feeling of safety and security in your day-to-day life. You seem to know on a deep level that those you love are truly there for you. Having strong first chakra energy means that you aren't apt to be as swayed by life's small ups and downs as many people are. Your positivity in this area also shows that you generally feel grounded and understand that your life's foundation is solid.

While we often think we are aware of all that is happening in our lives, sometimes the card we choose regarding the Present provides deeper insight than we are able to tap into on our own. Carefully consider the Tarot's following assessment of your present, and see what the cards are trying to teach you about situations occurring in your life right now.

Justice

Approximately 85% people who pick The Justice card in the second position say that it accurately matches what's happening at the present time.

Justice represents the primary influence on the current state of your life. Right now, in your present, you may be in a situation that requires a judgment or decision to be made, either by you or regarding you. Getting this card in this position may be a sign that the person making the decision will weigh the pros and cons of the situation with balance and fairness. Beware of bias in this situation, and follow the path of honest and just conclusions.

Justice represents fairness and honor. In the card, she holds a sword in one hand and the balance scales in the other. She sees things clearly, without obstruction. With all the evidence at hand, and armed with open-mindedness and unwavering honesty, Justice allows for fair and balanced decisions. This card signifies that the right thing will happen in the end.

There are a number of ways this card could be playing out right now. Some possibilities include:

*                     You may be faced with a decision in your love life that requires balanced fairness.

*                     You may be involved in a financial dispute that should be determined by an unbiased third party.

*                     Your may need to make a decision regarding your health in opposition to your other needs and desires. This could also relate to a legal claim regarding an injury or malpractice.

Understanding our past decisions and situations can help us derive more from the lessons life is trying to teach us. It's never too late to acknowledge the truths of our past and bring that wisdom into our present and future.

The Magician

72% of people who are dealt The Magician in the first position say that it accurately represents their past.

The Magician exerted a significant impact on your past. This means that at some point in your past, you were guided by a full and unleashed creativity. You were likely very fruitful in your self-expressions, no matter what your outlet, and you had the wherewithal to turn your greatest ideas into reality. Your intuitive approach to life, and the reactions it elicited from others, brought you to the point you're at today.

The second card in the Major Arcana, the Magician is creative and imaginative. In this card, the Magician points his ward toward the heavens and his other hand toward the earth. His tools are laid out on the table—a cup, a sword, a wand, and a pentacle (five-pointed star)—representing the suits in the Minor Arcana. The infinity sign hovers over his head, representing the never-ending flow of life. The red of the roses symbolize passion, and the white of the lilies represent intellect. The Magician is a sign that you can create your own reality, and that something exciting is developing. With this card, if you ask for what you need on your path to reaching your full potential, you may receive it.

This card may have affected the overall tenor of your life, or just a particular area. Following are a few possibilities of how you experienced these influences in your past:

*                     You may have been able to relate to your family members creatively, influencing your family's way of doing things with your unique approach to life.

*                     In your social life, you may have enjoyed relationships in which you connected with other creative people.

*                     You may approached your love life intuitively, trusting your gut instincts despite the views of others or logical assessments.

Now that the Tarot has offered its insight into your past and your present, it's time to look forward into the world of what's yet to happen. Read on to see what the cards predict for your near future.

Knowing what may be coming up in our future allows us to prepare ourselves for the unexpected. The card that represents your future will reveal which lessons are coming up next in your life. You may learn that you're about to enter into a particularly fruitful or easy time, or the cards may predict that you're about to be confronted with the opportunity to learn some of life's more challenging lessons. We each have lessons to learn, and if we avoid them, the cards tell us that they will simply reappear until they are addressed. When life lessons come your way, allow the cards' insight to guide your way as you work through these challenges. Keep in mind that if you successfully learn your lessons, you can then move on to new ones.

The Empress

This card is the strongest indicator of what your future will hold.

Your future, as it currently stands, is represented by the third card you chose. The Empress is a sign that a cycle of great abundance is coming your way. In some area of your life, you'll receive the comfort and care you've been longing for, and peace and contentment will be yours. When an opportunity presents itself, take initiative and the Empress will lead you into a time of great prosperity and allow you to forge a connection to your higher self.

The Empress is card four in the Major Arcana. In this card, the Empress has twelve stars on her crown, representing each of the Zodiac signs. Her heart-shaped shield symbolizes the planet Venus' resonant love and affection. She is surrounded by signs of nature, including the wheat chaffs at her feet and the forest surrounding her. This card represents abundance and great happiness. The Empress is Mother Nature, representing fertility, a thriving romantic relationship, and life contentment. She is your nurturing, mothering side, bringing you comfort and peace.

More than any other step of life's journey, this card represents the lessons you must learn and the experiences in store for you in your upcoming karmic destiny. This may impact you in any number of ways, including:

*                     A romantic relationship that will give you nurturing and contentment when you need it most.

*                     A project or job that will allow you to have more room to show your unique talents and achieve the success you deserve.

*                     The resolution of a conflict with a family member that will bring you newfound peace.
